Juliana is a professional scientific illustrator and lecturer with a masters degree in scientific illustration from Maastricht University and Zuyd Hogeschool in the Netherlands. Juliana travels around the world giving lectures about the importance of illustration in scientific papers and public outreach. Juliana’s passion is to use illustration to communicate complex scientific ideas to the public in order to engage communities about habitat preservation and climate issues.
She has created illustrations for many scientific journals, documentaries, science centers, botanical gardens, and for public radio. Her illustrations focus on fragile environments, endangered species, comparative anatomy between humans and mammals, and biodiversity.
